Bhut Has Germinated

One of the Bhuts has popped up, with a second almost thru the soil. They are sprouting a yellow color…different from my green cayennes and cherry peppers. Not sure if this is good or bad. First seedling is now in the light box…will transfer second one tonight after it is fully sprouted.

Cherry Pepper Plants

Just potted up my 2 Cherry Pepper plants into the same solo cup. They have formed a nice root system in the clear christmas cup I had them in, but they needed the larger pot. I’m hoping the two plants almost grow together and form a nice bushy plant. Only time will tell.

Bhut Jolokias and Trinidad Scorpions

An awesome guy from thehotpepper.com sent me seeds for the above-mentioned pepper plants, which I have just placed into my germination box. Jut planted 3 of each for a test.

One seed per cup as I bought shot glass cups to try them out. I will transfer any plants to red cups once they have their true leaves.

New Grow Box

I finally got around to finishing my new grow box. It’s a $25 bookcase from walmart, white, with the white side turned inwards to reflect light towards the plants. I mounted 2 T8 12″ lights to the top of the bookcase, and I duct taped a cardboard door with white construction paper on the inside…again to reflect towards the plants.

There are other levels i can play with in the future…possibly to germinate seeds or a low mounted light when the seeds break thru the soil.

Trimmed The Plants

Took the plants out for a water, trimmed them up a bit, cut off some buds. Expect them to bush out more from he trimming.

I also just had a good idea for my new grow box. I’ve assembled most of the bookshelf that will be my new grow box, but still need to mount the lights in it and drill holes for the wiring. My idea is to buy a piece of pressboard with white lining, mount it with hinges so it acts like a door and maximizes light in the box. When complete I will post pics.

Update Needed

Its been awhile since i have posted anything. The cayennes are doing well in the box. I took out the seed warmer and its hovering around 20 degrees celcius in the box. No signs of damage to the plants. Ive had to cut off flowers as i dont want them yet.

My cherry pepper plants are progressing too, just slower which is ok for me. Here they are…
